Maiden Texas is a Texas-born trio comprised of vocalists DeAwna Edwards, Krista Hughes and Stephanie Mulder.
The young ladies originally met while performing in a country music show in 1998
at Six Flags Over Texas. Krista, DeAwna & Stephanie gained experience as strong
soloists before the opportunity to sing together came in February of 2000. The girls became the only female singers for a Branson style show in Wichita Falls, Texas.
It was during the run of the show that the girls realized that a unique musical blend
was created when they sang together.
The trait that sets this trio apart from any other is the way that the lead vocal is alternated between the three, a style not often seen in country music today. After becoming established as a trio, the girls auditioned for the television show “Your
Big Break”. Krista, DeAwna and Stephanie were flown to Los Angeles to perform
on national television. Trying to gain as much exposure as possible, the trio, then
going by the name Three Step, began singing regularly at Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue in Arlington, Texas. The show is well known for it's role in helping launch the careers of well known artists such as LeAnn Rimes, Steve Holy, Linda Davis and Lee Ann Womack.
In addition, the girls have had their own show at Six Flags Over Texas every
year since 2000. They were featured performers at the State Fair of Texas on the Chevy Main Stage in 2001 through 2005 and are currently one of the most sought
after groups for corporate events and festivals.
Country music continues to evolve into a style of music that appeals to people
of all ages. Maiden Texas is determined to be a part of that evolution. A trio made
up of individual, unique voices that effortlessly become one. These girls have every intention of becoming nothing less than the best.
